Kane FM Gets Broadcast License

Kane FM Press Release 11/08/04

KANE FM development radio sets out on it's maiden airwaves this August, working with the community with an aim to raise the presence of talented, local artists.

KANE FM Development Radio will be the only radio covering the GU airwaves to actively participate in the development and promotion of musical ability in the area. By integrating work from artists who are as yet unheard with some with more recognisable masters at work on a 24x7 rotation, this radio station is bound to be revolutionary.

KANE FM looks forward to being live and interactive; with a website streaming the radio shows world-wide and mobile phone hotlines at the ready for texts and shout-outs. Not only will these elements provide an unequalled forum in which listeners and artists can interact in the area but KANE FM will also be able to develop directly from the feedback received.

"KANE FM intends to shed a new light on the music scene of the area by giving listeners an exclusive opportunity to hear the newest, unreleased sounds available today. If you like what you hear, or even if you don’t, text us, call us, email us or shout at us with your comments in the live web-forum. First and foremost, as a radio for the community, we see our policy of 'audience-dictating-play' as the key to the radio's evolution.

KANE FM's play-list has no limitations and the radio producers are not obliged to give preference to any one tune over another. So, with music ranging from Dub and Reggae to House and Garage, KANE FM is sure to captivate every music-conscious ear in the area.

"Above all, we hope to bring a fresh perspective to the concept of local radio."

The radio signal will be of greatest intensity over the Guildford and Woking Boroughs, also engulfing the Local Authority of Waverley. Parts of the Mole Valley and Elmbridge Authorities will also receive full coverage, with the 'bleed' extending far further, weather conditions permitting.

This new and exciting platform goes live due to consistent support from independent musicians, local commercial enterprises and the Guildford Borough Council.
