Wanadoo Introduces 2Mb Broadband as Standard

Today Wanadoo, Europe’s biggest broadband provider is offering new customers an even faster broadband service – double the previous speed. Priced at £17.99 - Wanadoo 2Meg broadband opens a gateway of opportunity for customers to surf, and legally download videos, music and pictures – twice as fast as before.

Eric Abensur, Wanadoo UK CEO, said: “We are known for offering customers great value for money - providing the best services at the best possible price. With this new offer we want to demonstrate our continuing commitment to giving our customers more for their money, by offering our fastest speeds as standard.”

The decision in the case was taken by an Independent Expert who based it on detailed submissions made by both parties to the dispute. The Expert makes it clear that the decision is based solely on how the domain name was used and in that respect took unfair advantage and was unfairly detrimental to the Rights of the Complainant. It was not based on whether there was any prior knowledge of  Apple or their iTunes music download service.
